Chikungunya tour, 2006

So I'm off, in a couple of hours, to a rain-sodden city in the grip of a mysterious fever, with a speaker someone other than me decided would be a good use of taxpayer dollars to send on a lecture circuit for several days, presumably on the reasoning that as long as he wasn't actually indicted, he can deliver talks abroad on the very issue over which he hastily resigned. I mention this just so that if anything else blows up in the meantime and you can't reach me, that's (hopefully) why.
